“Eto’o is a gift from the footballing gods” – Martinez

Everton manager Roberto Martinez, has said that Samuel Eto’o is a “a gift from the footballing gods”.

The Cameroonian striker joined the Toffees last summer and scored twice last weekend against Burnley in 3-1 victory.

Martinez insists that the former Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea man inspires his team with his professionalism and hard work.

“To have Samuel here is like a gift from the footballing Gods. To have someone of his experience is the perfect ingredient for our young players, the way he’s been training and working to a perfect fitness peak has been of pristine professionalism,” he said.

“Then in terms of finishing qualities and what he brings to the side is of the highest quality. It’s important we give him the right playing time – but clearly to see his performance not just on Sunday, but in every role he’s had so far, has been really high standard.

“I’m really excited to see him in the second half of the season, his finishes against Burnley looked like the old good time Samuel Eto’o.

“He comes in every day wanting to work and does it with style, which is something everyone can learn from. He has a massive influence on those around him.”

Ibrahimovic not optimistic about Ballon d’Or chances

Paris Saint-Germain’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has admitted that he does not hope to win this year’s Ballon d’Or prize.

The 33-year-old striker finished last season as Ligue 1’s leading scorer for the second successive season and won the league and Coupe de la Ligue with PSG.

Ibrahimovic was named alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria in FIFA’s 23-man shortlist for World Player of the Year, but he has insisted that missing out on the 2014 World Cup has harmed his chances.

“I think I have just played the best season of my career,” Ibrahimovic said. “That’s one of my objectives: to be better each year and always improve.

“I’ve been nominated, but it will be difficult because I didn’t play the World Cup. A lot of fantastic players shone at the World Cup, so they’ll have a certain advantage, but as long as I do what I can do, that I achieve results and I play at a high level, I can aim to win this award. That’s what I try to do anyway day after day, by working again and again.”

Jennifer Lopez speaks on her past relationships says she’s being emotionally and verbally abused

In a new interview, Popular American born Singer, Jennifer Lopez opens up about her split from Marc Anthony in 2011, and also reveals she’s felt abused in past relationships.

The newest edition of People magazine features an excerpt from her upcoming book, True Love , will be out Nov. 4, which details the moment in 2011 when the singer says she realized she needed to divorce Marc Anthony.

Jennnifer Lopez recalls feeling increasingly pressured to appear to have a perfect relationship, ultimately suffering a panic attack during a photo shoot in Los Angeles. That was when she decided to end things with Marc Anthony after seven years of marriage(june 2004-2011).

She said:

“As I sat there getting made up, my heart was beating out of my chest and I felt like I couldn’t breathe… I became consumed with anxiety,”.

Her mother and long-time manager, Benny Medina, were with her during the dramatic experience, which Jennifer Lopez describes as, “one of those moments when you’re so scared you can’t even scream.” Lol!

Lopez, 45, adds that mid-panic attack she looked at her mother and exclaimed, “I don’t think I can be with Marc anymore,” before bursting into amidst tears.

The couple, who are blessed with 6-year-old twins, Max and Esme, announced their divorce one month later.
Lopez also reveals feeling emotionally abused in past relationships, though she never says in the book who the abuser was.

“I’ve never gotten a black eye or a busted lip, but I’ve felt abused in one way or another: mentally, emotionally, verbally,” she said. “I know what it feels like for your soul to be diminished by the way your loved one is treating you.”

I will NOT Quarantine myself-U.S Nurse who spent 5 weeks caring for Ebola patients in Sierra Leone

Last week,Kaci Hickox, a nurse who spent 5 weeks caring for Ebola patients in Sierra Leone was quarantined in a tent against her will in New Jersey. She then got a lawyer and slammed the quarantine system ,calling it imprisonment and a violation of right to freedom of movement.

She was released after testing negative but was and told to observe a 21 day quarantine at her home in Maine ..However, she insists she won't do that ,and vowed to fight the quarantine policy in court if necessary.

She told Matt Lauer this morning on "The Today Show"
“You know, I don’t plan on sticking to the guidelines. I remain appalled by these home quarantine policies that have been forced upon me, even though I am in perfectly good health and feeling strong and have been this entire time completely symptom free. I’m thankful to be out of the tent in Newark, but I found myself in yet another prison, just in a different environment,” (continue)
“I truly believe this policy is not scientifically nor constitutionally just, and so I’m not going to sit around and be bullied around by politicians and be forced to stay in my home when I am not a risk to the American public.”
Matt Lauer asked
“Are you prepared to take legal action, not only against the state of New Jersey, but now the state of Maine if they decide to enforce this quarantine period?”
She responded
“I’m not talking about New Jersey right now, but if the restrictions placed on me by the state of Maine are not lifted by Thursday morning, I will go to court to fight for my freedom,"
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie defended the decision to mandate Hickox’s quarantine,
“I don’t believe when you’re dealing with something as serious as this that we can count on a voluntary system. This is government’s job. If anything else, the government job is to protect safety and health of our citizens.”
